Working out without any music.
This is what my IPOD had to say to me today as I got on the elliptical this evening.
Yes. My IPOD still works. Yes I forgot to charge it. Yes it was the most challenging workout I have had in years because there were no BPMS to sync up with my heart. I lacked a rhythm, so I had to create one. Needless to say, I am super proud that I got through it.
This evening my girlfriends and I ventured out to a 90s Sing Along at a hipster bar in brooklyn. It was one of the most amazing nights I have ever had in this city. Magical even. It felt like church. Singing at the top of your lungs, the reminiscing, the favorite forgotten songs, the knowledge that everyone in that room went to sing their Friday away. It was amazing. I am doing it again. A sing along is like karaoke but better. Everyone sings. No one is singled out. I love this because I get stage fright. For all my peeps in NYC, check it out. After all, there is nothing like having the best time without spending a dime.
